The 4th of July in San Francisco is offers a myriad of activities for the entire family. San Francisco knows how celebrate the Fourth! Beginning at 2pm, they’ll be toasting America on its special day along the waterfront. The Cannery, Ghirardelli Square, Pier 39 and the rest of the attractions on Fisherman’s Wharf all join in.
There is live music in some of the larger venues, and street musicians, artists, jugglers and mimes set up impromptu stages and perform, adding to the color and excitement. Thousands of tourists flock to the area for the annual celebration: It’s a people watcher’s paradise.
At 9pm, a massive fireworks show is conducted from a pair of barges on the bay, one off Pier 39 and the other from Pier 45.
