Location: 10000 Skyline Blvd., Oakland

Chabot Space and Science Center is located in Oakland, just a short distance from downtown San Francisco. This excellent and well-priced museum is appropriate for children of all ages, but elementary school kids will especially enjoy it. It’s home to a great planetarium with a 70-foot domed screen, and presentations at the planetarium are complete with music and narration. There’s also a huge theatre with “Sensurround”, a Discovery Room for children ages 4 through 7, and an observatory that boasts a powerful refractor telescope which can be enjoyed by the public most evenings.

Chabot Space and Science Center also offers a number of special classes and workshops for kids and you’ll even find occasional special events for adults as well.
