The Cannery is located within easy walking distance of popular Fisherman’s Wharf and is a delightful area for all ages to enjoy. Once the home of Del Monte’s Plant #1, the largest peach factory in the world, it’s now the site of more than 30 stores and restaurants, a maritime museum, an open-air Farmer’s Market, and a Parisian-style antiques market. First built in 1907, the renovated interior of this building is visually stunning, featuring three levels of balconies, bridges, and winding walkways surrounding a pretty courtyard strewn with olive trees, designed to resemble a European piazza. Guests will also find a number of outdoor cafes at the Cannery, where they can enjoy a bite to eat or a quick drink. Street performers entertain daily in the outdoor courtyard and a variety of special musical and other types of events are held here throughout the year. There’s also a comedy club on site for the adults. |
