Transamerica
Pyramid San Francisco
Location: 600 Montgomery Street, San Francisco
The Transamerica Pyramid in San Francisco was the idea of John R. Beckett, then
president of the Transamerica Company. His idea was to bring natural light and fresh
air inside the building. That was achieved by the construction of a pyramid in 1970.
The Pyramid has become a very famous landmark recognized throughout the world. Visitors
can enter the main lobby to view an exhibit and also a Virtual Observation Deck.
A camera perked up on the spire 853 feet above sends magnificent vistas from the
city around. The view of the City by the Bay is superb.
