Father’s Day tours on the USS Hornet are a great gift for good old dad. Bring him aboard the historic aircraft carrier, where he can participate in mission briefings, see airplanes lifted to the flight deck and sit in the cockpit of a fighter jet. Plus, he will get to participate in the official opening of the Captain’s and Admiral’s in-port quarters.
This is a world-class sea, air and space museum that emphasizes the legacy and history of aircraft carriers and naval aviation. All dad and the teens will care about is that it’s fun with a capital fun! Dad and crew will enjoy exploring exhibits like the “Apollo Moon Mission” display, along with 13 navy and marine aircraft, both fixed and rotary wing.
These cool planes range from WWII vintage to today’s modern era. Dads can get up-close with a TBM Avenger, an F-14 Tomcat, and a real space capsule. Be sure to bring a camera so you can get plenty of pictures of dad acting like he’s about 12 again. You’ll get a kick out of it, as will the real teens, and dad will thank you for a quite memorable experience.
