 San Francisco Crab Festival

San Francisco‘s love affair with crab is celebrated during all the month of February and it is reflected in the San Francisco Crab Festival. In contrast with other areas, the Bay of San Francisco and its surrounding areas is inhabited by a different variety of crab - the Dungeness crab. Connoisseurs distinguish the taste of this variety as being sweeter and San Franciscans cannot get enough of them. As a matter of fact, they indulge in over 1000 pounds daily.

The most prominent celebration is located at the Fisherman‘s Wharf, but rest assured that not only every restaurant, but also every home in the city would have its share of the tasty delicacy. The restaurant chefs are already getting their creative juices going to concoct the most delicious ways of cooking the crabs for the most memorable of dining experiences.

In a mere three years, the San Francisco Crab Festival has spread like wildfire to encompass the unforgettable city by the bay and win the hearts of event the most reluctant visitors.

Location: Fisherman‘s Wharf
When: November - June
