The
Wax Museum San Francisco
LLocation: 145 Jefferson St., San Francisco
The Wax Museum at Fisherman’s Wharf has been entertaining
San Francisco’s guests for
more than 40 years. Truly one of the most expansive museums
of its kind in the world, this 4-floor wonder offers up everything from King Tut’s
Tomb to the greatest faces in comedy and everything in between.
Two-hundred intricately-crafted wax figures are set up
in staged scenes with appropriate costumes, props, and lighting, accurately depicting
the world of each famous character. In this 100,000 square foot facility, you’ll
see things that you won’t find in any other wax museum. For example, the Hall of
Religion offers an amazing life-size depiction of da Vinci’s The Last Supper, and
on the top floor, visitors are treated to an incredible re-creation of the Tomb
of King Tut.
You’ll also find the Palace of Living Art, where you might
encounter Van Gogh, Norman Rockwell, or the Mona Lisa. If you’re a Hollywood fan,
there are plenty of famous movie characters at the Wax Museum, as well as royalty,
sports legends, and important figures in U.S. and world history.
